Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using the SailTrak Race Control application ("the Service") hereby referred to as Race Control, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a sailing club or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
Description of Service
Race Control is a race management tool designed to interface with Google Drive and Sailwave scoring software. The Service allows users to record race times, manage competitor lists, and synchronize course data with the SailTrak client app via MQTT.
User Responsibilities & Data Ownership
Google Drive: You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google Account used to connect to the Service.
Data Ownership: You (or your Club) retain full ownership of all race data, competitor lists, and results stored on your Google Drive.
Accuracy: Race Control is a tool to assist in race management. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all race results, lap counts, and GPS coordinates captured within the app.
Third-Party Integrations & Beta Features
Sailwave: You acknowledge that this Service modifies files intended for use with Sailwave. We are not affiliated with Sailwave and are not responsible for any data corruption or compatibility issues that may arise in third-party software.
MQTT & SailTrak (Beta): The real-time tracking, MQTT synchronization, and course-sharing features are currently in Beta. These features are provided for testing and supplemental situational awareness only. Connectivity depends on third-party MQTT brokers and internet availability; we do not guarantee 100% uptime, low latency, or the surgical accuracy of relative positioning data.
Experimental Nature: You acknowledge that automated features may be subject to bugs or interruptions. Users should maintain a manual backup of race standings (e.g., paper logs or secondary digital records) during the Beta period.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of local maritime regulations.
Attempt to reverse engineer or "scrape" data from the Service.
Use the Service in a manner that exceeds the reasonable API limits of Google Drive.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Race Control disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the accuracy of GPS locations, the persistence of data on Google Drive, or the fitness of the Service for a specific competitive event. Race results generated by the app should be manually verified before being declared official.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Company or its developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of race data, hardware damage, or sporting disputes) arising out of the use or inability to use the Service.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
